What do consumers want from EMRs, you ask? Accenture releases the latest stats on global consumer wants and needs, including that the top desire for EHRs is to be able to book and change appointments (82%), receive reminders (76%) and refill prescriptions (73%). And while most (95%) want at least some access to their medical records, 61% report they don’t have it currently.
IBM predicts that within five years, all doctors will use patient DNA to help diagnose and care for them. This is one of the firm’s top 5 predictions for the next 5 years, which also includes the death of passwords (yippee!)
