A NJ medical center has created a storefront called HealtheConnect, inspired by Apple’s Genius Bar, where patients and visitors can experience and learn about health technologies such as smartphone-connected blood pressure monitors, fitness trackers, and apps.

The Ebola “Grand Challenges” contest has solicited 1500+ innovative ideas to fight the virus, bringing product concepts like cooling undergarments and enhanced protective gear.

Biotech entrepreneur Tony Coles is starting a new company to research treatments for Parkinson’s, ALS, and Alzheimer’s. The startup is called Yumanity and the basis of its research is yeast.

Genentech is seeking FDA approval on its new combination drug treatment for advanced melanoma. Speaking of, FDA says their approval rate in 2014 outpaces that of 2013.
