The Scoop – Native Ads in Emails | Power of Branding | Knowing Your Barbie Audience February 18, 2015

Native ads are starting to pop up in emails…is this the last place we hadn’t yet seen them? Thanks to CMIO Susan Dorfman for this story.

A new study that basically shows the power of branding found that one key to getting people to quit smoking would be to remove the branding from cigarette packs.

Great example of knowing your audience – at Toy Fair this week, Mattel announced that we’ll be seeing Barbies of all different skin tones/races launch in the US, which has the most diverse population in the world. (But alas, same body type – which is why I bought my daughter this to add to her Barbie collection.) They’re also launching Hello Barbie, a cool/creepy doll that not only talks, but ‘learns’ based on past conversations with her owner.

And a last note for today – anyone else’s Amazon preferences get really wonky from yesterday’s Scoop link? I was trying to joke about wanting to get my kids a Daddle – just a joke. Yeesh.
